Auction 84th, Lot 132 The presented oeuvre of top quality is a unique example of Pištěk's work with an object, representing the mature creative style of an important personality who has, thanks to his talent and approach, indelibly inscribed himself not only in the field of art, but in many other disciplines. This absolutely exceptional work, with its exaggeration and originality, so characteristic for the author, connects two of his lifelong passions. On the one hand he is inextricably linked with the environment of racing cars and on the other hand with the remarkable world of art. These two seemingly different elements, together with the artist's ability to see objects from a different perspective and give them a new face, allow him to create sophisticated associations with complete ease and to elevate a serial component such as this engine skeleton to a multi-layered art object not lacking in originality or hyperbole. When working he prefers not to interfere too much with the components that interest him. This was also the case with the discarded eight-cylinder engine which immediately reminded him of a head. It is in this principle that Pištěk finds the beauty of art, which is able to give objects new stories and meanings. The Red Head was created especially for the exhibition ANGELUS (Brno House of Arts, 25 September - 12 January 2020), which took place at the turn of 2019 and 2020 in the Brno House of Arts. In the context of Pištěk's work, the uniqueness of the object is further supported by the fact that only a few similar works were created, which, however, often disappeared together with the exhibition for which they were intended. The work comes directly from the artist's studio.
