Auction 84th, Lot 192 This masterpiece of monumental dimensions is a top representative of the author's work in the mid 1990's. Following the small nitro lacquer drawings, which he devoted himself to at the beginning of the previous decade and through which he explored the possibilities of illusory depiction of interiors, this now legendary painter created a breathtaking composition that literally engulfs the viewer and invites him into his inner world. In the interior we can feel the sounds of postmodern design, the same fascination with shape and colour and a certain desire to cross established boundaries. Thanks to his perfect technique, which in the accuracy of detail could be likened to photography, Theodor Pištěk is usually classified as a hyperrealist, but he himself rejects any kind of labeling. His work is a unique way of responding to world tendencies, but in many ways he exceeds them and preserves his own individuality and the uniqueness of his own expression. This unparalleled painting, which presents the author's work in a style rarely occurring on the market, has been reproduced and exhibited many times: Theodor Pištěk, author's monograph, pages 268–269, published - Theodor Pištěk - ecce homp, book published by the NG in Prague, page 130 published - Theodor Pištěk - Angelus, House of Arts of the City of Brno, 2019–2020, exhibited: House of Arts of the City of Brno, Angelus 2019–2020.
