85th Auction, Lot 1 The works of Jan Kaláb first gained popularity abroad, but today his works are represented in both world and domestic collections and his popularity grows continually. On his canvases of organic shapes, he creates, working with colour tones and subtle shading, an extremely impressive colour performance, capturing not only an intangible flash of time, but also the feeling that is associated with that particular moment. The ephemeral moment of the sunset light is thus more than just an aesthetic experience; it becomes an experience affecting our senses and emotions. The number in the title in this case indicates that the painting was created in March 2021. The work comes directly from the author’s studio. Proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of the Bátor Tábor Foundation and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
