85th Auction, Lot 7 This artwork by Mária Švarbová, a Slovak photographer who has gained recognition in a global context, attracts the beholders’ attention. This award-winning artist became known to the public mainly thanks to her still unfinished series entitled Swimming Pool. The sterile environment of the old, often socialist swimming pools, contrasts with the colourful clothes of the swimmers. The strict geometric grid of tiles, in contrast to the line of female bodies reflected on the calm water surface of the pool, thus creates an almost dematerialised impression. The colours gently vibrate in a dreamy atmosphere and lead us to a place of futuristic impression. In her work, the artist is not afraid of working with post-production, thanks to which the pictures gain a new dimension. This artwork is a donation from the author. Proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of the Bátor Tábor Foundation and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
