85th Auction, Lot 8 This large canvas represents the contemporary work of the leading Czech artist and head of the Drawing Studio at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts, Jiří Petrbok. In his work, he developed an original expression in which, thanks to his expressive brushwork, elements from the real world are combined and intertwined with the imaginary ones, being both the physical and mental experiences of the individual as well as society as a whole. Petrbok thus came to a very strong expression, in which the figures are modelled via inner imagination and often gain a surprising character set in highly unexpected contexts. The process of creation itself becomes an internal and personal medium, which is an inseparable part of the whole artwork. The painting comes directly from the artist’s studio. 50% of the proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of the Bátor Tábor Foundation and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
