85th Auction, Lot 11 This large canvas represents the work of Attila Szűcs, an important personality of Hungarian fine art. His very realistic figurative compositions often create surreal impressions, thanks to the dreamy interweaving of individual plans or the characteristically sensitive work with light and the provocative use of colours. His works are often based on photographs, pictures downloaded from the Internet or postcards, some of which are personal memories or pieces of collective memory. One of his pivotal themes is the concept of time, which is not only the subject of the painter’s research, but often also appears as a technically integrated organizational principle of his paintings. Time as part of the process is also an inseparable element of the work itself. Another important element and central issue of Szűcs’ work is light, whose metaphysical qualities have fascinated the author since the beginning of his career. This artwork is a donation from the author. 50% of the proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of the Bátor Tábor Foundation and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
